Evangelize.
Inspire.
Create.

How can we connect faithful creatives with ministries?

  • The Christ in Media Institute promotes research and education with the goal of evangelization: to communicate the gospel, the forgiveness of sins through the atoning death of Christ, and draw people into a beautifully creative life nourished by Word and Sacrament.

  • The Institute seeks to be a continuation of the work of artists, evangelists, poets, hymnwriters, philosophers, mathematicians, scientists, writers, rhetoricians, theologians, and pastors from the great tradition of the Evangelical Lutheran Church and the church catholic from the beginning and on.

We are inspired by the masters of the arts, from Lucas Cranch & J.S. Bach to Johannes Kepler & Hans Christian Andersen to Bezalel & King David, all who sought to explore and receive God’s creation and gifts, and communicate truth, goodness, and beauty through vastly different media.

We aim to inspire future generations to do the same.

  • We aspire to animate a new renaissance of confessional Lutheran creators and artists.  We encourage and support the creation of media that is both spiritually vital and well grounded in Confessional Lutheran theology, that has both integrity and relevance, and is executed masterfully. While dealing with every aspect of human experience, our main concern is the presentation of the Gospel for vast audiences around the world.

WHAT HAVE WE DONE?

Over 40 projects produced across 32 countries.

For more than 16 years Christ in Media has provided research, access to experts, and seed funding for a wide variety of media related gospel-centered projects across the globe.

NEW & ONGOING INITIATIVES

The need for Christ-centered media takes on many different forms. We create work and support projects for churches, mission fields, and schools.

  • Eikademy

  • CMI Journal

Christ in Media is developing an annual journal about the intersection of art, media, and theology.  Watch for this in the future.

From Our
Executive Director

Through CMI’s  initiatives I believe we honor CMI’s visionary foundations and engage the strengths of those in our midst today.  Though the public hasn’t seen much from the Christ in Media Institute in the past few years, we’ve been at work behind the scenes.  I look forward to introducing a new generation to participation in kingdom work through various modes of communication and expression. God grant that we can facilitate evangelism, inspiration, and creativity in our time and long into the future.

Respectfully,

JASON JASPERSEN
